Ph.D. in Behavioral Disabilities and Educational Administration received from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1980. Over 35 years of teaching and administrative experience. Presently faculty member at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) and San Diego State University, Interwork Institute (SDSU) as Region Manager with two federal grants - California Career Innovations (CII) and Promoting the Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income (CaPROMISE). Provide supports and technical assistance to Chapman University’s Thompson Policy Institute (TPI).  Completed 32 years as Career Vocational Coordinator for Whittier Union High School District (WUHSD) in administrative position responsible for coordination of vocational and career support for all students with disabilities for seven district high schools and providing technical assistance for Community Advocates for People’s Choice (CAPC) adult agency providing supported employment and supported living services.  Board member of the California Transition Alliance.  Developed and participated with a number of Interagency Systems Change grants linking Education, Rehabilitation, and Developmental Disabilities services at a local, state, and national level.

Regional Manager for CaPROMISE projects in Los Angeles & Orange County (SDSU) CaPROMISE represents Career Development, Benefits Planning and Employment.
Regional Manager for CCI projects in 2015 to present (CSULA).
Consulting and evaluating for both projects.  2013 to present.
Vocational and Training Coordinator, WUHSD-Career Connection.  Special education administrative position coordinating Vocational and Career support for all students with disabilities for seven district high schools and technical assistance with CAPC an adult agency providing Supported Employment and Supported Living services.  November, 1993 to August, 2017.
Part-Time Professor, CSULA.  Taught courses at Master’s Degree level in special education teacher training and educational administration.  Experience teaching Behavioral Supports (EDSP 513), Methods (EDSP 402;480;481;551), Mainstreaming course for regular education teachers (EDSP 410), Problems and Practices in Special Education (EDSP501) and Administration of Special Education Programs (EDSP 585). Also supervise student teachers in special education. September, 1981 to present.
Future Planning Process Working with Marsha Forest and Jack Pearpoint to develop model for Future Planning that allows the individual consumer to be at center of planning process and to assure as much consumer voice and choice as possible.  December, 1992 to present.


Jay Nolan Community Services, Executive Director.  Assisted and monitored development of curriculum and instructional programming for all support services including Non-Public School Support, Vocational Support Services and Residential Support Services as well as Home Family Programs. November, 1987 to 1992.
Whittier Area Cooperative Special Education Program (WACSEP). Assisted in development of the "K-12 Articulation Project," a checklist for the following curriculum: Career Education, Socialization, Vocational Support, Recreation/Leisure, and Domestic. 1987 to present.
Self-Advocacy Training Research. Coordinated pilot project developing and implementing Self Advocacy Training by individuals with Developmental Disabilities funded through the UAP of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. September, 1995 to present.
Project WorkAblity Statewide Longitudinal Outcome Study. Collection and analysis of data as a Charter Site. WUHSD has been collecting and analyzing data regarding students who leave the district.  The data analyzed involves academic progress, ethnographic and social progress. 1988 to present.
Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center with the Career Assessment and Placement Center.  Evaluate  Impact of the Supported Employment and Supported Living Services as well as data management and measure of individual progress based on individualized program plans.  1987 to present.
California Mentoring for Youth with Disabilities.  Rehabilitation Services Administration funded project, administered by State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. 5 year research study with SDSU exploring the effects of Mentor/Mentee relationships and training for mentors. 
BRIDGES Youth to Self Sufficiency with Social Security Administration, WorkAbility I, WorkAbility II,  Transition Partnership Project (TPP)Coordinate activities, staffing and services of three Transition Projects, one from State Department of Education, two from State Department of Rehabilitation.  The three grants total over $1,700,000, per year, 1992 to 2017. 
Community Advisory Boards for State Department of Rehabilitation and State Department of Education for Transition Services. Provide field input for both state departments on various task forces; Chair, Collaborative Sections Advisory Board.  2002 to present.
Workability and JTPA. Updates for State Department of Education to keep current with techniques and strategies ensuring that all students have functional Individualized Transition Plans (ITPs). April, 1992 to present.
U.S. Department of Education - Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services (OSERS).  Three year Federal grant to facilitate additional Supported Employment opportunities for individuals with most severe disabilities for Jay Nolan Community Services.  Total funding for three years $360,000. 1989 to 1992.
